What is Chiropractic Care?
Chiropractic care is a traditional, scientific complementary, and alternative medical discipline that concerns itself with the diagnosis and healing of mechanical impairments of the skeletal system, most particularly the back. Chiropractic doctors are trained professionals who have obtained formal chiropractic education and training to diagnose and treat patients suffering from neuromusculoskeletal dysfunctions, such as muscular or skeletal pains, joint and bone ailments, and disorders affecting the spine and other muscles and organs of the body. They are also trained to perform other related procedures, such as performing an arthroscopic surgical procedure, electrotherapy, and the application of various therapeutic modalities, such as massage, manual therapy, nutrition therapy, and orthotics.

A Quick History on Chiropractic Care
Chiropractors can specialize in various areas of physical therapy and orthopedics. The methods and techniques used by chiropractors, according to several researchers, have evolved. Some believe that the technique used by early chiropractors, which consisted of manually manipulating the vertebrae of the spine using their hands, had the potential for causing injury. In addition, they felt that since the spinal cord includes ligaments, tendons, nerves, and muscles, it could result in irritation of other areas of the body, including the hands-on areas of the health care profession. Over the years, the hands-on technique of chiropractic care has evolved into a more controlled, clinical treatment using a well-defined set of spinal manipulative measures.
